Diego Galiano was born in Colombia in 1986. He studied at the Superior Academy of Arts (ASAB) in Bogotá. He emigrated to Argentina to study and participate in the art scene of Buenos Aires.
He currently lives and works in Bogota, his artistic interests are the processes of creation and exploration around graphic arts, in particular wood engraving, painting and photography.
He is attracted to the possibilities offered by the hand-cut paper as a resource, his work is influenced by a deep analytical look of the society, how we relate and the images that emerge from our interaction. He has participated in multiple exhibitions. He is an active and curious creator. Part of his work has been purchased by collectors.
Embedded in the popular culture, highlighting the diverse character of every human and natural activity that surrounds me is the motivation of my creative processes, the curiosity I have in the world.
Finding common places that bring us nearer as a society, as parts of a whole apparently unconnected, a universe waiting to be described and transformed using multiple languages and tools.
Crowds, objects agglomerations, landscapes, disorder of the cities and their incessant beating are the mirror where I find the concerns that conform my work.
